Liz Cheney has rejected Trump's 'big lie' from U.S. House GOP leadership

WASHINGTON The Republicans in House voted on Wednesday that after pushback against former President Donald Trump's unfounded claims of electoral fraud, US Rep. Liz Cheney should be taken out of her leadership position.

In a close-door meeting, the GOP legislators took Cheney (R-Wyo.) by voting to unite the party to win back the House in the mid-term elections of 2022. The Resolution of Rep. Virginia Foxx (R.-N.C.) has been introduced to remove Cheney as Chairman of the Leadership No. 3 from her post.

Foxx said that the party had lost its trust in Cheney, former vice-third-term president's daughter. Cheney is the lone member of Wyoming's House.

"The main purpose of our conference today is to pursue sound, conservative policies that will resonate and recover a majority in 2022," says Foxx. "Our continued statements, which have sown confusion with the public on our message and agenda have distracted us from this goal unfortunately."

"These are why it seems that you shouldn't represent us as conference chair more, to me and to most other here," added Foxx.

The Republican of North Carolina, Rep. Madison Cawthorn, tweeted following the vote: "Na na na na na na, hey hey, goodbye to Liz Cheney."

Cheney said that Republicans cannot uphold the Constitution while also embracing «The Big Lie», in a press conference following her removal, Trump's claim that the elections had been robbed of him.

On January 6, the U.S. Capitol revolt was caused by a mob of supporters of trumpet who tried to stop the legislators from voting to certify the votes of the Electoral College.

Cheney said, "We have to proceed in truth. "I'm going to do my best to make sure the former president never gets close to the Oval Office again."

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) is ongoing to replace Cheney, and supported, among other house republicans, the House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and the House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.).

Rep. Ashley Henson (R-iowa), a radio journalist elected in November in the 1st Iowa Congressional District, wrote on Twitter: "The only way to put an end to Speaker Pelosa's destructive agenda is by the Republicans being united.

Stefanik has endorsed him as "the right person to come together behind a message to help us communicate that message to Americans. We should vote immediately to elect her as our chairman."

House Chairman Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) praised Cheney in a written statement for her 'courage, patriotism, and integrity.'

"The rejection by Cheney of the Republican truth by Congresswoman reflects her denial of the need to seek the truth in a 6th commission of January and reparate the January 6 damage with an immediate safety supplement," she stated. "Resolute Republicans throughout the country need to take their parties back for the sake of our democracy."

In February, more than a dozen Republicans in the House tried to remove Cheney from her job, but managed to hold sufficient votes and held McCarthy and Scalise on their back.

On Tuesday night, she gave a scathing house speech warning her party was moving towards authoritarianism and ignored the rule of law.

She said, "To remain silent and to ignore the lie emboldens the liar." "I won't be involved in it. I am not going to sit still and watch our political party go down the path of giving up rule of law, while others join the cruise of the former President to undermine our democracy."

Some Republican legislators decided that Cheney should be removed, and even celebrated their exile, at Twitter.

Rep. Matt Rosendale of Montana just posted a photograph on Twitter reading 'Mission complete' with a reply alarm about the removal of Cheney.

"Liz Cheney uses her speeches to audition for work as a CNN commentator," rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado tweeted.

On Twitter Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) writes he decided to delete Cheney as she does not agree with Trump's leadership.

"The task of the chairman of the conference is to represent the entire conference she has consistently failed to attend," said Kelly.

"The notion that the Republican Party's tiny minority will eviscerate President Trump's influence was never plausible, and never good," said Representative Dan Bishop of North Carolina on Twitter.

"Our voters ask that we fight the radical agenda of the Left, we must go back to it."

Stefanik, who runs as conference president unopposed, released a statement urging her Republican colleagues to support her efforts to help them recover their house, which they lost in 2018, and to reverse the policies of President Joe Biden.

"We should provide our members with key messaging points to fight the Far-Left media narrative on the most significant issues for our constituents," she said. "The key foundation for the recovery of a majority is a unified leadership team."

"Republicans have to unite to oppose the socialist agenda for the Americas," said Rep. Lisa McClain, of Michigan. "Regionists are trying to force on America." "I voted today to move the conference on a single front forward."

"House Republicans have chosen right," tweeted Georgian Rep. Buddy Carter. "We need a chair, not the past, which is geared to the future. Our nation's foundations are being attacked and we must fight against them. We must have a chair that unifies our message against the greatest Gov intrusion we have ever seen in our lives."

"I voted for Liz Cheney for the second time as GOP Chair," tweeted Georgian Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. "We've been opposed to Cheney's Trump derangement syndrome together with over 74 million Trump supporters."

Certain Democrats were in defence of Cheney.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (DM) has written on Twitter that continuing the spread of electoral fraud lies is dangerous for the republican parties. In the 2020 election, Trump's Justice Department found no evidence of electoral fraud.

"Autoritarianism and fascism are established in their countries by political parties which promote lies and propage," he said. "Trump's and GOP's cancellation of Liz Cheney is a blink of red danger to our democracy."

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) also wrote on Twitter that she've done the right thing by telling the truth while he doesn't often accept Cheney.

"Biden won, trump lost," he said. "It is also known by his colleagues. This is why the cowards expelled her by a vote from her leadership. It is a disgrace."

"To little or nothing, I have in common with @RepLizCheney, but applaud her for the courage to stand up to the Cult of Cowards of #DonaldTrump," tweeted Florida representative Frederica Wilson.

"All the rabbits go down, I mean rabbites, hole,' the Wisconsin GOP congressional delegation,' tweeted Wisconsin Rep. Mark Pocan. "We are sad to see the GOP's cultic behaviour continue. Leading means standing up for reality, even if it hurts."
