Drake Bell of 'Drake and Josh' has been charged with child abuse.

Drake Bell, who played Drake on Nickelodeon's hit show "Drake and Josh," has been charged with attempting to endanger children and spreading material detrimental to minors.

Bell, 34, was arrested on June 3 and pled not guilty in Cuyahoga County Court, according to court filings. Bell, whose real name is Jared Drake Bell, was released on a $2,500 personal bail that included a requirement that he not contact his alleged victim.

Bell allegedly had an inappropriate conversation with a youngster that was "at times sexual in nature," according to Fox 8 in Cleveland.

The alleged assault occurred on December 1, 2017, the day before Bell was set to play at Cleveland's The Odeon. Bell, on the other hand, was not charged until last month, and he is scheduled to appear in court on June 23.

Bell's mugshot was taken in the Cuyahoga County Jail shortly before 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 3. He was requested to provide his DNA, which is routine in Ohio.

Bell was arrested for a DUI in 2015, and his bail was set at $20,000. He pleaded no contest to a misdemeanour in the instance and served four days in jail.

“Drake and Josh,” which followed stepbrothers Drake Parker (Bell) and Josh Nichols (Josh Peck), premiered in 2004 and ended in 2017. The show, which generated three TV movies, was one of Nickelodeon's highest-rated shows at the time, with an average of nearly three million viewers.

Bell sang the show's opening theme song, "I Found a Way," and has released various albums over the years, including "Telegraph" in 2005, "It's Only Time" in 2006, "Ready Steady Go!" in 2014, and "Sesiones En Casa!" in 2020.
