Iowa Tibbetts & Xavior Harrelson cases not linked to Iowa DCI:
COUNTY POWESHIEK (KWWL) — — The Iowa Criminal Investigation Division reports that there is no indication that Xavior Harrelson disappeared and Mollie Tibbetts died.
Cristhian Bahena Rivera's defense attorneys proposed a fresh argument in court documents released earlier this month: her two men who were slain when sold for sex trafficking. In the Tibbetts case she was killed. The defense recognized James Lowe, 50 years old, as a local sex trafficker running the "trap home," a house where a prisoner, Arne Maki, claimed to have seen Tibbetts before two other Lowe's men killed it.
The defense also argued that Lowe was related to the death of Harrelson, stating that Lowe had a relationship with Sarah Harrelson, the mother of Xavior, and resided with her for some time.
The Assistant Director of the Criminal Investigation Division of Iowa Mitch Mortvedt said that the two crimes had to be linked to one other, apart from the fact that Tibbetts and Harreling were alive in County Poweshiek. Mortvedt says that researchers are investigating every possibility of Harrelson's disappearance and not shutting off the door. He adds the research is highly active.
